Gloucestershire Minibus Scheme logo (GMS) 

A minibus brokerage initiative, designed to meet the needs of community organisations who have reason to use minibuses or small passenger-carrying vehicles at any time.

GMS member organisations that own buses can lend them to other member organisations who need transport for a particular purpose, in exchange for a contribution towards overall running expenses, fuel costs and any volunteer expenses.

Booking is co-ordinated by a local broker, who matches minibus needs to availability and is on hand to help with any problems.

Member organisations can benefit from access to driver assessment and training (which is free to volunteers), a low cost 'fleet' insurance scheme for minibus-owning groups provided by B J Knibbs Ltd., sizeable discounts on tyres with the local network of ATS Euromaster service centres, and advice on minibus maintenance and operation.

GMS is also working with local commercial vehicle dealerships and garages to provide member organisations with discounts on new vehicle purchases and maintenance.

GMS is not only a low-cost option, it is also introducing a package of measures to encourage good practice.

Membership of GMS is open to most organisations run on a 'not-for-profit' basis, such as clubs and societies, charities, community and voluntary organisations, schools and colleges.
